Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning

Has the environment significantly dulled your skin?

Every day, we’re exposed to sun damage, harsh environmental pollutants, and even toxins that leave our skin cells dry cracked and damaged. These can build up on the surface of our skin and prematurely age us, cause wrinkles and other texture irregularities, and make us self-conscious. At ENT Aesthetics,, we believe your skin deserves the royal treatment with dermaplaning.

How Does Dermaplaning Work?

The buildup of dead or damaged skin cells is the leading culprit to a dull, dry complexion. Dermaplaning can help by exfoliating away these problem skin cells. Your Skin Management Expert™ at ENT Aesthetics uses an exfoliating blade to skim off the damaged skin cells at the surface to reveal new, refreshed, and whole cells beneath. Dermaplaning also removes fine vellus hair, which traps oils, dirt, dead skin cells, and residue from skin care lotions and creams. The aim is to smooth and expose your radiant, youthful beauty and clear the way for your skincare products to work better. Dermaplaning can even restore skin scarred by acne, and it’s safe to use for any skin type.

Am I a Good Candidate?

Dermaplaning is for anyone seeking to improve a dull complexion and remove built up damage and debris caused by environmental toxins, sun exposure, and age. It’s not dependent on your Fitzpatrick skin type, so it’s safe for all skin pigments and conditions when performed by ENT Aesthetics.

What is the Dermaplaning Treatment Like?

Your experienced ENT Aesthetics provider will ensure you’re comfortable in one of our spa treatment rooms. Some patients may choose a topical numbing cream, but the procedure isn’t typically painful. Patients report feeling a tingling sensation during the session, but it’s not too intense. A dermaplaning tool is applied and slowly moved across your face at a 45º angle to gently remove built-up dead cells, debris, and scar tissue. The session lasts between 20-30 minutes and concludes with a soothing cream massaged into your skin. Sunscreen is strongly recommended in the days following your dermaplaning appointment, and you shouldn’t require any downtime.

What Results Will I See?

Dermaplaning works on the surface of your skin, so you should see immediate improvement to the clarity and texture of your face as all that buildup is removed and younger, more glowing skin beneath is exposed. Improvements will continue for a few more days, peaking in the first week and lasting throughout the next month. Additional treatments can prolong your results and can be performed every 3-4 weeks as needed. With your newly uncovered skin cells, sunscreen is critical in keeping your skin protected from further sun damage.

Much of the ENT Aesthetics philosophy centers around taking good care of the skin and providing our patients with the skincare solutions they’ve not found anywhere else. Not all cosmetic treatments involve intensive therapies, and with regular dermaplaning, many people can get ahead of the aging process and prolong their youth and beauty for the long term without a lot of intervention. If you’re concerned the environment is taking a toll on your skin, and you want to stop the clock in its tracks, call to find out more about dermaplaning for skin renewal and prevention of future damage. You won’t regret it!
